How to use CHAP Authentication on Windows phone 7 (WP7)
If you are getting authentication error on your Windows Phone 7 or any other device which use CHAP authentication against Active Directory within your corporate network, you can change authentication type through below steps.
By default Windows Phone 7 works on PAP (Password authentication protocol) but you can change that to CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol)
To change authentication type, Please login to active directory and go to user profile as shown in below picture.
Under “Account” tab è enable “Store password using reversible encryption” Click “Apply” and then “OK”
Reset password again and now you can use CHAP with any device which requires you to use CHAP instead of PAP.
